at

Game 3 of a 4 game series
Location: Nationals park
When: September 12, 2020, 6:05 p.m.
Weather: the forecast for gametime is partly cloudy, 73°, 0-5% chance of rain

Atlanta Braves

Ian Anderson - RHP, 2-0, 2.40 ERA, 1 Grammy, 11 gold and five platinum albums

1. Ronald Acuña Jr. (R) CF
2. Freddie Freeman (L) 1B
3. Marcell Ozuna (R) LF
4. Travis d'Arnaud (R) DH
5. Dansby Swanson (R) SS
6. Austin Riley (R) 3B
7. Adam Duvall (R) RF
8. Tyler Flowers (R) C
9. Ozzie Albies (S) 2B

Washington Nationals

Patrick Corbin  - LHP, 2-4, 4.34 ERA

EDIT: Updated line-up with late scratch of Adam Eaton

1. Brock Holt (L) LF
2. Trea Turner (R) SS
3. Juan Soto (L) DH
4. Asdrúbal Cabrera (S) 3B
5. Eric Thames (L) 1B
6. Yan Gomes (R) C
7. Luis García (L) 2B
8. Michael A. Taylor (R) CF
9. Yadiel Hernández (L) RF

This is Hernández' first MLB start after 10 years in the Cuban and minor leagues.

Last game's hero: Michael A. Taylor, 1 for 3 with a walkoff RBI. Honorable mentions to Juan Soto (2 for 3 with 3 walks, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored), Eric Thames (2 for 5 with 2 RBI and 1 run scored) and Jan Gomes (3 for 5 with 2 RBI and 1 run scored). A nod to the pitching staff and defense, which bent, but generally did not break, stranding 19 Braves.

Do you still remember December's foggy freeze?

Anderson has lights out stuff. His problem has been health and durability

So far, he's held the powerhouse Braves offense to 2 runs over five, all with no support from his own team's offense. Maybe he will come out and wilt in the sixth, and the comparison will be somewhat apt, but not yet.

even harder to get a hit when you watch strikes....this collection of whiffers must lead the league in watching called third strikes....they would rather play umpire than baseball.

McGowin seems to have 2 breaking balls: a 12 to 6 curve and that slurvy slider that moving a lot horizontally

over the years, whenever the Nats have faced a rookie pitcher throwing his first MLB  game, could pitch blindfolded and these clowns would make him look like Walter Johnson.....
