Well, we only had a partial eclipse down here, and I only captured the one shot, but I think it was a good one:

The eclipse lasted long than Aaron Rodgers first season with the Jets.

I met Sean Doolittle today! He came to Arlington Central Library to read a book ("Clifford Joins the Team") to kids, including my daughter. Before reading he took Q&A from the kids in the audience - who asked better and smarter question than the typical sports reporter - and afterwards he signed autographs. My daughter got a Sean Doolittle autograph in her fuzzy cat notebook.

just getting past the worst of a terrible bout of bronchitis. I came down with the initial symptoms on Monday and slept almost non-stop from Monday night through Wednesday morning (except to cough and drink water/gatorade). I finally started eating solid food again last night.

I flew home from Las Vegas on Saturday and sat next to a guy who was coughing up a lung. Shame on him for flying without a mask. Shame on me for flying without a mask.

That's pretty much my method for handling illness as well. It's amazing how much faster you recover from things when you just shut down non-mandatory functions and sleep, while letting your body use the rest of its resources to fix the issues. I usually get over stuff in half the time that friends and family do with the same bug using that approach.

The important one is keeping up the fluids - for once, sugary or isotonic drinks are best; when not-so-good, the body actually finds plain water to be quite harsh.

I consumed a lot of the Gatorade pedialite clone.

nice day for ACE and DC Water to have a problem at Dalecarlia and have to issue a bottled / boiled water advisory for DC and Arlington. Got a nice tourist run on bottled water when the residents will need it too.

Enjoy the midday ballgame. don't count on the vendors for anything except bottled drinks and beer.

Funny because where I work we had a network failure on Wednesday AM where we could not connect through our network to any microsoft web application. We had to go around the network to connect (hot spots or not connecting remotely to our VPN). I wonder if it was related?

Flew into DCA yesterday.  Good fortune. Went to the VA DMV this morning to take care of some business. Closed. Until noon they said  I’m skeptical but who knows.
